Quilt 2

Cody Smith

Cody was a loving boy with a ready smile. He liked to help people and quickly became the family "finder." Whenever something got lost Cody would say, "I know where it is," and rush off to get it. Being tickled was his favorite thing in the whole world. He was his brothers' best friend and couldn't wait to grow up and do the things they did -- like go to school, play soccer and have the tooth fairy bring money for a lost tooth.

One of Cody's happiest days was when he finally got to start kindergarten. He was so excited he could hardly wait. All the kindergartners gathered on the first day, waiting to find out which teacher they would get. One of Cody's friends was too shy to join the group around the teacher when his name was called. Later, when Cody joined the group, the other boy ran right up there with Cody.

That was the kind of little boy Cody was. He wanted everything to be in order and everyone to be happy. So we chose a heart to represent Cody in the quilt. He had so much love to give and loved to help others. We believe organ donation was another way for Cody to help.
