Cost
Team Maryland will provide $500 towards Transplant Games expenses (registration, hotel and travel) for one first time living donor attendee and one first time transplant recipient attendee to travel to Birmingham, AL, to take part in Transplant Games related events including the Opening, Closing and Donor Remembrance ceremonies.
Requirements
- Living donors and transplant recipients applying for The Transplant Games Scholarship must have donated or received their transplant at one of the transplant centers in the Infinite Legacy service area.
- Must participate in at least one sporting event at the Transplant Games.
- The donor and recipient should be comfortable speaking to the media and must respond to media opportunities on a timely basis, should any arise.
- Regularly attend Team Maryland meetings to build a relationship with the other team members.
Application and Selection Process
The application must be received by the Infinite Legacy Community Outreach Department by Friday, April 5, 2024. The living donor and transplant recipient chosen to attend The Transplant Games will be notified by Friday, April 19, 2024. The scholarship recipients will be selected based on a range of criteria including commitment to raising awareness for organ and tissue donation and supporting Team Maryland.
