DMVs and MVAs are crucial elements to organ, eye and tissue donation. More than 95% of all Americans who register to become organ donors, do so at their local DMV/MVA. Because of this, their partnership with WRTC is vital to the success of organ donation in our community.
As part of these efforts, WRTC partners with each state’s Donate Life team, helping to register individuals on each of the state’s donor registry.
It is important to know, anytime someone signs up at their local DMV/MVA to be a registered organ, eye, and tissue donor, they are signing up through the same registry used by WRTC and the Donate Life state teams; there is no need to register in multiple locations.

Local DMVs and MVAs can request a WRTC or Donate Life Ambassador to visit, give a presentation, or supply informational brochures by emailing WRTC’s Community Education Specialist.
What better way to spread the message of organ, eye, and tissue donation than by showing your support with a Donate Life license plate. For a small additional license fee, both Maryland and Virginia residents can purchase these plates to display on one’s vehicle. Please check with the state’s DMV/MVA for information and purchase options.
