Donor Family Gathering
The Donor Family Gathering is a special remembrance service for our donor heroes and their families.
Each spring, WRTC honors and remembers generous organ donors who miraculously saved lives in death. The annual Donor Family Gathering brings together more than 500 people, including donor families, transplant recipients and donation and transplantation professionals to pay tribute to donors and their families. Testimonials from both organ and tissue recipients are featured, as well as a pictorial tribute of each donor and a candle lighting. At the 2019 Gathering, our 23rd and final Donor Remembrance Quilt was dedicated at the non-denominational service. In 2020, donor families can participate in a virtual Donor Remembrance Garden memorial on our website.
The Donor Family Gathering allows families to celebrate and honor the lives of their loved ones and share fellowship with other donor families and recipients. Families also witness first-hand how organ and tissue donation truly makes a difference in the lives of so many recipients and their families.
