For Religious Leaders

noun 1452535 70C041Religious leaders have a powerful opportunity – to educate, encourage, and enable everyone to say yes to organ, eye and tissue donation!

When approached about organ donation, those who are hesitant to say yes to donation often state religious beliefs as their primary concern. Though the answers vary from one denomination to another, the vast majority of religions support donation and transplantation.

WRTC encourages all religious leaders to support donation as a way of giving back to others and to educate their congregation on the benefits of organ, eye and tissue donation. To learn more about the viewpoint from a specific religion, please read, use, or download our Religious Views pamphlet.

Educating Congregations

There are many ways religious leaders chose to educate their congregation on the power of organ, eye and tissue donation.

Below are a few ways WRTC can support you in your efforts:

  • · COORDINATE A SPEAKER TO ATTEND YOUR SERVICE, MEETING, OR SPECIAL EVENT
  • · SEND EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL FOR DISTRIBUTION TO THE CONGREGATION
  • · PROVIDE PERSONAL INTEREST STORIES FROM THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN THE BENEFACTOR OF A TRANSPLANT – THESE STORIES CAN BE INCLUDED IN NEWSLETTERS OR E-MAILS
  • · ORGANIZE A HEALTH FAIR OR OTHER EVENT
  •
