Classof2017

With the help of volunteers and advocates in the community – such as teachers, religious advisors, and community leaders – the message of organ, eye, and tissue donation can be disseminated throughout the community. WRTC encourages everyone to take an active role in helping others understand the power and importance of registering to become a donor.

WRTC is here to help anyone who is willing to be an advocate! With a plethora of resources, WRTC experts are available to tailor to everyone’s needs and each individual organization – all at no cost!

Here are a few ways WRTC can help:

  • · PROVIDE VOLUNTEERS TO MAN BOOTHS AT HEALTHFAIRS
  • · OBTAIN A SPEAKER WHO CAN RELATE TO SPECIFIC AUDIENCES
  • · SEND BROCHURES, EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL, AND OTHER SUPPLIES TO SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF ORGAN DONATION
  • · OFFER A PERSONALIZED PRESENTATION AT YOUR EVENT, DELIVERED BY A WRTC PROFESSIONAL
  •

BECOME A DONATE LIFE AMBASSADOR

Picture1Washington Regional Transplant Community’s Donate Life Ambassadors are the backbone of the organization. Our volunteers not only offer countless hours of their time, but come with a passion and enthusiasm for donation, making them a vital element in spreading the message of organ, eye and tissue donation throughout the community.

To become an official Donate Life Ambassador, volunteers participate in an introduction workshop presented by WRTC’s Senior Community Education Specialist; here they learn the ins and outs of volunteering and representing WRTC in the community. Once complete, these dedicated volunteers then have the opportunity to scan events and volunteer opportunities throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Volunteers can then sign up for the events that interest them.

Donate Life Ambassadors are not obligated to sign up for any event, nor does WRTC require our Ambassadors to volunteer a minimum amount of time each year. The Ambassador program is 100% voluntary!

We have the BEST volunteers in the non-profit community, and for that, WRTC is eternally grateful. If you would like to learn more about our volunteer program, click the Become a Donate Life Ambassador button below, or contact us at (703) 641-0100 or .
